Nikon MB-D200 Multi-Power Battery Pack for the D200 Digital Camera (Retail Packaging) Review

I don't expect to have anything at all go wrong with this type of an
accessory and so far it works great.
For me the ability to have the second battery online alone would justify the cost. My grip rarely comes off because I like the added size, weight and feel much more with it mounted than I do using the camera alone. In particular when using a Nikkor zoom or even the 105mm micro. Just balances everything out very nicely and gives me a more secure feeling holding the camera.
Note that it has a slot to store your battery compartment cover from the D200 that keeps that piece secure and easy to find when you decide to use the camera without this attachement.
That is one example of the thought Nikon put into this grip. Another would be the AF button and shutter release placed just where you need them for vertical capture.
People have asked so I might as well mention that I feel just as secure mounting this unit to the tripod as I would mounting the camera directly.
Great menu interface! You get seperate readings for each when you access Battery Info via the Set Up menu. Information displayed includes the percentage of charge for each unit plus the overall status of each battery. Status being indicated by the left to right scale showing overall condition by a needle wavering in between New and Replace. Above that and on the same screen are a L and R column for each slot showing percentage of battery power left. You also get a number representing how many shots have been taken with each battery!
Something to think about before you write a review about the battery and claim others lack understanding!
Included is a plastic tray that accepts eight various AAA batteries for use when the stock EN-EL3e units you use are drained. This is for when you just have to keep shooting. The way I use this tray is to carry spare batteries most likely intended for the SB800 flash unit. It does that job very well!
Good luck!

Nikon MB-D10 Multi Power Battery Pack for Nikon D300 & D700 Digital SLR Cameras (Retail Packaging) Review

When using the MB-D10 with the D300, you will find that it is a great improvement from the MB-D200 (the D200 vertical grip). For one, it is made of magnesium alloy, and is much sturdier. It is also weather sealed like the D300 body. It fits nicely and firmly with the D300. It also has an additional multi selector, which is a great added feature. The MS-D10 (holder for AA batteries) also comes in a very nice pouch. Of course with such improvement comes the price increase as well!
If you want to achieve 8fps on your D300, you can use the EN-EL4/a battery with your MB-D10 or AA batteries (8 pieces). The ability to use AA batteries is a real plus point. Imagine having a long trip where you may not have access to charge your EN-EL3e batteries. Having the ability to use AA batteries means that you can carry a bunch of them and still be able to shoot... even deep in the wilderness.
Another advantage of the MB-D10 is that it is not L-shaped, which means that you can easily slip it into your camera bag and pull it out when you need it. To mount the grip, you do not need to remove the battery from your camera and marry the grip to the camera as how the D200+MB-D200 was designed to. It does not take as much space and not as awkward as grips that are L-shaped. This is a versatility of the MB-D10, but also has some getting used to.
Here are some areas which either you like or hate or take some getting use to:
1. The battery in the camera need not be removed to use the grip. So for those who leave the grip on all the time and want to use 2 batteries at a time, it would mean that you would need to remove the grip each time you want to remove the battery in the camera. It would be nice to be able to swap both batteries without having to remove the grip, but the design is such and we would have to live with it. What I've decided to do is to remove the battery in the camera and just use the one in the MB-D10. Besides, you can get a lot more shots with the D300 than the D200 for the same battery charge.
2. The shutter release button on the MB-D10 is a bit too sensitive, which means that you can quite easily trigger the shot. The sensitivity between the shutter-release button on the camera and the grip is different, so when switching orientation of the camera, you'll need to be aware of the sensitivity so that you do not accidentally take a shot which you did not mean to do so.
3. The MB-D10 can take the EN-EL4/a battery. However, the battery chamber cover for the EN-EL4/a is not part of the package, and you would need to purchase it separately. The battery chamber cover is BL-3.

Nikon MB-D11 Multi-Power Battery Pack for Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera (Retail Packaging) Review

The Nikon D7000 camera has pro performance capability, but lacks the larger pro body of cameras like the D300s. Some may not find this a problem, but I have large hands and I find the smaller body of the D7000 is not as comfortable to use as a larger body. The excellent solution was the Nikon MD-D11, which is a combination vertical grip and battery pack. Two battery trays are supplied, so you have the option of using either one Nikon EN-EL15 battery or AA batteries. You also have the option of keeping a back-up battery in the camera body as well. A soft case is supplied for the tray you are not using, but it is too small for the grip itself. The grip pack has some of the same controls on it as the camera body, but the main controller is a joystick rather than the round pad type used on the camera and is great for selecting focus points in vertical or horizontal position. The grip is well made of lightweight metal alloy that has a rigid solid feeling. The grip area and bottom is covered in rubber and the bottom has a screw hole for use with a tripod.
Conclusion: The Nikon MB-D11 grip/pack is a high quality accessory that improves the handling and comfort of the D7000 to such a great degree that I leave this lightweight grip attached to my D7000 all the time now, even when I don't need the extra battery power. It's a little expensive, but it is well worth having, especially if you have large hands. Highly recommended!

Nikon MH-23 Quick Charger for EN-EL9 Li-ion Battery Review

Nikon MH-23 Quick Charger for EN-EL9 Li-ion Battery

This is the standard charger that Nikon sells for use with the D40's EN-EL9 battery. The title incorrectly shows it is for charging the EN-EL5. That battery will NOT work with this charger -- the contacts won't line up.
If you do need it for the EN-EL9, it works very well. I'd appreciate a shorter power cord for travel use, but it is detachable so you can switch it out.

Nikon MB-D80 Multi-Power Battery Pack for the Nikon D80 & D90 Digital SLR Camera (Retail Packaging) Review

This is a very nice accessory for the D80 camera. The main deal with it is that you can either equip it with two D80 batteries, or you can use it to power your D80 with several AA batteries--a nice thing to be able to do in a pinch.
The MB-D80 is built from strong impact plastic of the same time of which the D80 is made. This makes it relatively light, which is nice. You can add this to the D80 without making your camera unduly heavy and unpleasant to carry. And having two batteries rather than one is nice when one is taking a lot of pictures in locales where it is not convenient to recharge one's batteries frequently. And I like the shape of the MB-D80--it provides a nice shape and heft that makes the D80 more nifty to hold. Portrait shooters will appreciate the extra command dials and the vertical shutter release.
The thing that I especially like about the MB-D80 is that it provides the D80 with metering for each battery; one can see precisely the status of the batteries in the D80 when using this grip.
Overall, many serious D80 photographers will enjoy and appreciate this fine accessory.
