(More customer reviews)I looked at other remotes that sold for less money, but decided to go with Nikon. In testing, the remote worked from 12 feet away in a nearly 360° range, except for a couple of blind spots at the back quarters. A foot to either side found the camera. There was no need for a setup process, except for removing the battery shipping strip, which is clearly marked. The remote worked with my d3000 the very first time I pressed the button. It needs line of sight, but that's to be expected.
The lens cleaning kit that comes with the package is also of high quality. I probably wouldn't use the microfiber cloth on my lens, but it works great for eye glasses.
