(More customer reviews)There is plenty of learning material on the Nikon D5000 in this Nikon School DVD. The instructor is patient, speaks clearly, comes across being very friendly and informative, and you can see his passion for photography by the way he talks about photography. At first, I thought I saw this movie and paid for a DVD which was a free video download from the Nikon website. The first couple of scenes are free on the Nikon website, the rest of the DVD is not. Even the free scenes have extended footage on the DVD only. I would recommend to watch the movie several times to really absorb the material - I could feel my brain getting full about half-way through the video and decided to split it up over two days and to give myself a chance to practice what I saw. There are plenty of practical examples in the video too, once you watch the entire video, you can just skip to the section you care to watch again through the menu. This video has become a useful reference for me.

Nikon CF-DC2 Semi-soft Cast for Nikon D5000 Digital SLR Camera Review

(More customer reviews)I've had my Nikon D-5000 for a couple of months now and use this case pretty much exclusively. My original Nikon 35mm film camera (for those old enough to remember film) case used the tripod mount to secure the case to the camera. As the D5000 has the screen the old approach does not work. So, there is a small strap that goes around the neck strap, and you pull the entire case off to shoot and it sort of dangles there. After taking a couple of pictures, you have to pull the case back around the camera (and often the right side sort of folds in and you have to try again). If I'm going to be taking more than a few shots, like at the zoo, I leave the case off completely. So, not the most convenient case, but at the same time not sure how you would improve it. It provides a little protection for dust and bumping and scratches. It is worth buying but can't rave over it.
